Dear colleagues,
As Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy, I am pleased to invite you to join the Asian Energy Week 2007 which will be held in Bangkok. Seen of the importance of this international event, ASEAN Centre for Energy is proud to be the official endorser.
Supported by local and international organizations; this event promises to be the meeting place for energy experts in the greater Asian region. In this time of globalization, energy is everyone’s concern. For this reason it is very important to seek international co-operation to fasten the development of e.g. interconnection, energy efficiency, ESCO’s and security of supply. The Asian Energy Week provides such platform by covering many issues which also relate to our ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) for 2004-2009.
The ASEAN Centre for Energy’s mission is to accelerate the integration of energy strategies within ASEAN by providing relevant information state-of-the-art technology and expertise to ensure that over the long term, necessary energy development policies and programs are in harmony with the economic growth and the environmental sustainability of the region. I believe that the conference can play an important role in assisting us in achieving these goals as well as strengthening international co-operation.
